Welcome to the Leichhardt Dog Training Club. We are an incorporated, non-profit organization that runs dog obedience training classes on most Sundays for people with puppies (from 16 weeks) and adult dogs. We use positive reinforcement and rewards-based training techniques as we have found this method of training leads to better understanding, trust and respect between owner and dog. Our grounds are located at the Hawthorne Canal Reserve in Leichhardt. All of our Instructors are volunteers and are avid dog enthusiasts.

You may join the club any Sunday throughout the year and the annual membership fee will run to the last day of training in December of that year.

After the orientation sessions on your first training day, you will automatically progress into Class 1. Thereafter, progression through each level to Class 4 is by tests for promotion.

The Club trains in an off-leash dog park so there will be times when there are distractions, i.e. a dog, a ball or even a child runs through class. Use these distractions as a fun training exercise. It is important to be able to handle and manage your dog regardless of distractions.
